The Rye Opens in Downtown Cincinnati
The Rye Cincinnati, our newest apartment building in downtown Cincinnati, has opened its doors, with Mayor Aftab Pureval joining us in cutting the ribbon, signifying the official opening. The fourth property to be added to our downtown portfolio, The Rye was converted into 35 one-bedroom apartments with community amenities such as a community lounge, fitness center, dog washing station, and has been awarded LEED Gold and a Historic Preservation Certification. The building also has a 2,819 sq. ft. ground level commercial space available to lease to one or two different commercial tenants.
Built in 1904, this historic building was the home to a host of businesses throughout Cincinnati history, including the warehouse for Brookfield Rye whiskey. Rookwood Properties owned the building since 1988 and after it recently became vacant, it was important for us to repurpose a historic building, while honoring its original design and architecture.
